Real Art Teacher | Trained in Canada and the UK | Lives in New Zealand
Kim inspires people of all ages to find their inner artist, and boost self-esteem, grow mindset,
and appreciate the mindfulness of making art. Working with Kim will help you feel good about drawing and painting.
From her home studio, Kim provides small group lessons in a peaceful atmosphere, fine tuning traditional skills and techniques (drawing and painting), while exploring choice and individual style. The studio is not open to the public.
All students must book in advance. Since students love to stay with Kim for years, it means that she cannot offer new spaces often in her studio classes, so she has created the same lessons on video and the new list of her online art courses is steadily growing, as she creates them. Please help her get the word out and share this website with your friends!
How does she do it:
Being a trained teacher and mum of grown up children, Kim has natural instincts for bringing out the best in her students.
Originally from Canada, Kim has completed her teacher training in the UK, before creating her life and family in
New Zealand. She's absolutely loved teaching in a range of NZ schools over the past 24 yrs, from regular primary teacher, to whole-school art teacher, to general Relief Teacher all the way up to senior high school.
Volunteering has always been important to Kim. Since initiating the community art market in Raglan in 2005, to becoming a Red Cross refugee support person in 2016, working in the Hospice shop in 2017, and in 2018 Kim received a certificate in Life Coaching, and continues to apply the skills for enhancing her work with young and old.
In 2021, Kim has been accepted as a Career Mentor with the Graeme Dingle Foundation whose programmes have the potential to signifigantly benefit Aotearoa, NZ through a youth population who are better educated, have enhanced employment prospects, greater self esteem and are healthy and motivated.
