"I really want to tell you that you are a great teacher, because even though Sophia only learns from you through video, your teaching style makes her interested in drawing. Sophia loves to draw and has been drawing herself since she was just a toddler, about 1 year old. She drew many things and almost every day until she was 5 years old. As learning at primary school, she likes to read and switched to prefer writing to drawing. She rarely draws, so I feel a bit sorry. Last year, I enrolled her some drawing courses in Auckland because I expect her to keep drawing. However, she only draws when she's in Art class. She still enjoys drawing but not as often.
I was so lucky to find your All Smilez. I showed Sophia your videos on All Smilez and asked her if she would like to learn from you. She agreed immediately. I suggested she would draw every weekday about 30 minutes if I bought your course. And as you can see, 2 months passed she drew every weekday as promised and was really comfortable drawing. She spends 1 to 2 hours drawing.

Oscar is really getting into his colour mixing, hopefully this continues now the marathon of school life is back. They are not so great at finishing what they start though, so we have lots of incomplete artworks lying around that need adding to. I need to get into the habit of leaving the paints out for them to help themselves, plus it was fun to dabble in myself. They will love to do the character drawing lesson I'm sure. "I think the way you structured it was perfect - starting with colour mixing, then moving onto rainbows and silouhette paintings. I also liked how the last lesson on browns also included drawing cute animals :-) We spent about 1-3 hours per lesson (depending on the child lol), and the video length was great as it held their interest for a good amount of time (Ariel always watched them at least twice!). Having a week to get the lessons done was good too as any less time would’ve been hard to do in the holidays with the great weather and the kids wanting to be outside a lot. Hi Kim - Could Stella-Grace please be re-enrolled for next year, it is the one afterschool activity that she has stuck with all year because she absolutely loves it. I think you do an amazing job, I am so pleased to see how much Stella has learnt and it is amazing to hear her explain to others and teach others some of the skills that she is learning, it is showing me that she is growing in confidence. I also love that she now does things that previously she has said she is really bad at (for example painting -she would always say "no im so bad at that" - but now she loves it!).
Also, I have no problem with the parking! Keep doing what you are doing, your amazing!

Even though it was a certain theme, all parts of art were included and we learnt tesselation, how to draw faces and human proportions. I have done art class here for 2 years now and the standards are still high. :)

I don’t know where to start, I LOVE it!! I’ve had to hold myself back from texting you today and raving on about it, in favour of finding some time while the place is quiet to really tell you how great it is.
I hadn’t told hubby what I was up to, and when I showed it to him he loved it just as much as I do. It brought real tears to his eyes (and he’s a tough rugby bloke!) and tonight he told me it is the best thing I’ve ever bought – which is a pretty big deal!

Update to the Napiers, June 2010
