conversations with my students
Last week I asked a few students about whether they ever see either of their parents/ caregivers drawing.
Almost every single child said that they had at least one parent who never drew anything, and probably never would. And that's pretty much what I was expecting to hear, even though these parents have been putting their child into art classes.
I know a lot of adults who honestly believe they can't draw, have NO artist ability whatsoever, and seem to have such a strong emotion about not drawing.... which leads me to believe that of course they would love to be able to draw!
The chats with my young students about the benefits of drawing definitely reinforced my desire to help more adults, and not just kids. So, if you are still reading, and are up for a wee challenge, to show your kids that you understand that trying something new can be scary, that learning a new skill might not be easy, and that being kind to ourselves when learning, is so important, jump on my email list and you can get started right away with a free download art lesson.
You may even like to email me a photo of you and your kids drawing together. Kim@allsmilez.com or maybe you can just comment below this post to let me know if you are inspired to get drawing with the kids.
And, since you have my email address, I'd love it if you save me as a contact so you don't miss my emails coming to you. I'd like to share more ideas with you on how you can grow your skills and those of your children before they get to that point where they think they simply can't draw.
You already have it in you. Let's draw!
Kim's love of drawing and painting have guided her through all the tough decisions in life, and her passion to help other's know that EVERYONE'S AN ARTIST.
